Major achievement of Agriculture sector Haa Dzongkhag.
1. Rural livelihood support:
1No. RNR Center was Constructed at Balamna & 1 No, Staff quarter (3 Unit) at Sombaykha. Dry-land irrigation Channel was constructed 600 meter long Gabion Wall was constructed 1500 running meter along the Haa Chu for protection of arable land. 1 No Field Pack house was constructed. (Potato, Apple, Veg.) 24 MT Chemical fertilizer was distributed in 4 Geogs through C.A
2. Employment Generation (SAP):
1 No Pigsty was constructed. at UDHSS & handed over Supplied 5 Nos of piglets with starter grower feeds Supplied gardening tools to for 4 Schools supplied seeds of vegetable, asparagus, potato to five schools for kitchen gardening 3. Food Security:
Under crop promotional program, improved cereals, legumes & pulses were distributed to five geogs 4. Income Generation:
Under crop promotional program, improved vegetable seeds, apples, walnut, peach, apricot , cardamom seedlings were supplied to five geogs
5. Institutional & capacity Development: 33 farmers of 5 geogs were taken on Farmers study tour till Mongar Trained Farmers on production management & Improvement practices & special training on apple pruning at Yusipang. 30 Nos. of Power tiller distributed in 4 geogs 2 No. Exhibition was organized at Uesu /Sombaykha
RNR objective for 9th FYP:
To enhance the rural income, To bring about balance and equitable socio economic development among different Geogs, To improve rural access to market and development services, Conservation and Management of Natural Resources, To attain higher level of food self sufficiency and food security in line with Dzongkhag potential
Strategy: Enhancing the production of food grains such as through promotional activities, farm mechanization, construction and rehabilitation of irrigation channel and use of feasible up to date technologies etc. Contributing to food sufficiency and food security by increase livestock yield and quality through breed improvement, fodder development and improved animal health program. Enhancing income of farmers through the promotion and development of potential horticultural cash crops. Ensuring the conservation of the environment through judicious use of forest/ natural resources and also by increasing peoples awareness of the importance of environment conservation and preservation
