Objectives-------
1. Enhancing rural income and contributing to poverty alleviation.
2. To ensure maximum people’s participation in sustainable forest resource management in order to improve the protective and productive function of forest ecosystems and to generate income and enhance rural livelihood from forest products.
3. To protect the fragile mountains system from erosion, landslips, forest fire and other natural calamities.
4. To protect and rehabilate watersheds for the production of quality water for drinking, irrigation and for the production of hydroelectric power.
5. To enhance forestry extension and service delivery through awareness, publicity and improvement of forestry services to the public.
6. To ensure that all Bhutanese citizens have access and rights to forest products at reasonable cost and time frame
