A one-day training on premium yak wool harvesting was conducted for 35 herders from Bji and Katsho gewogs; organized as a pilot initiative under the National Highland Development Program. The training, supported by FAO Bhutan in collaboration with Dzongkhag Livestock Sector Haa and the Department of Livestock, Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock, focused on best practices in harvesting, sorting, grading, and transporting yak wool for enhanced market value. The event was graced by the Chief Livestock Officer and FAO Program Officer. This initiative forms part of the Technical Cooperation Programme Facility between DoL and FAO, aiming to diversify yak wool products and improve the income and livelihoods of highland communities.
